One of the greatest sport events in Rome is the yearly organized Rome Marathon which is a row of events including not only the running itself but and entertainment throughout concerts and other cultural events. The marathon takes place in the old city while competitors will run along the most visited tourist sights like the Colosseum or Vatican city.

The participation of spectators is free.
