As in many cities of the western world, people celebrate the arrival of the New Year, in Rome public activities on the New Year Eve festivities (or as locally called Fiesta di San Silvestro) take place in various zones of the city, but the Piazza del Popolo has the best activities, including fireworks, music and live entertainment.
